Phytography

Last session we explored some analog photography mediums. Specifically, phytography, using natural chemistry of plants alongside photopaper to create impressions of leaves and such. Some examples we looked at like the work of Karel Doing, were very interesting to me as an animation inclined student. Using scans of analog/traditional mediums to make a video animation is something that would be interesting to look at alongside the rotoscpoing I want to try.

This session has really made me want to experiment with analog photography methods. I used to work as a product photographer and my uncle (photographer) taught me how to use a DSLR, so I am quite familiar with digital photography but I would love to do the darkroom induction at UAL and learn a bit more about film photography.
