Zine Making
Oveer two skill spine and workshop sessions we looked into zine making. We spent one session exploring how to format a zine digitally for print. And the second creating a zine by hand with scraps from newspapers and magazines.

We tested out folding zines to figure out which pages were which when laid out flat. I decided to make a teeny tiny zine out of a post-it note to test the bounds of the medium.

In the second session I started my layout from an A4 paper in order to have the pages at A7. My concept surrounded something along the lines of video game art, hence the title ‘PIXEL’ and the inner poster of 16-bit sonic. I used scraps of other title text and cutouts of images from magazines we had in the classroom.
Zine making has been something of interest to me for a long time and I used to participate in an art zine at my high school. While it doesn’t entirely relate to my course choice at LCC it is still something I’d like to invest time into eventually given the chance.
